What are the General Tests for an Alkene Gas?

1)  An alkene gas has no colour.

2)  An alkene gas may have a smell.

3)  An alkene gas has no effect on moist litmus paper
or moist universal indicator paper. It is neutral.

4)  An alkene gas will burn with a blue or yellow flame.

 

What is the Specific Test for an Alkene Gas?

There is no specific test for an alkene gas but
the burnt gas products are carbon dioxide and water
and there are specific tests for both of these.
