What are the General Tests for Carbon Monoxide Gas?

1)  Carbon monoxide gas, CO(g) has no colour or smell.

2)  Carbon monoxide gas has no effect on moist litmus paper
or moist universal indicator paper - it is neutral.

3)  Carbon monoxide gas burns with a blue flame
(this should not be confused with the yellow flame
produced during incomplete combustion of methane).

What is the Specific Test for Carbon Monoxide Gas?

There is no specific test for carbon monoxide gas.
The burnt gas (see above) is carbon dioxide.

Note - carbon monoxide is very poisonous.
