The total stopping distance = thinking distance + braking distance.


What is the Braking Distance?

The braking distance is the minimum distance
in which a car can stop once the brakes are put on.

The braking distance is affected by

1.  The velocity of the car.

2.  The mass of the car.

3.  The condition of the brakes, tyres and road surface.
