 Test for Carbon Monoxide Gas,  CO(g).

Carbon monoxide

1)  Has no colour or smell.

2)  Has no effect on moist litmus paper
or moist universal indicator paper - it is neutral.

3)  Burns with a blue flame.

Specific test.

Although there is no specific test for carbon monoxide,
the burnt gas is carbon dioxide - see test for carbon dioxide.

Note - carbon monoxide is highly poisonous.
