Energy Transfer

Heat Insulation for Buildings.

What is Double Glazing?

Double glazing involves two layers of glass
with a small air gap between them.

How does Double Glazing Work?

Double Glazing works as an insulator in much
the same way as cavity wall and loft insulation.

Double Glazing

The air gap is too small to allow the air to circulate.
This prevents heat transfer by convection.
The trapped air is a very poor conductor which reduces
the rate of heat loss through the window.
The room in the house stays warmer for longer (see costs).

Double glazing is also a good barrier to sound
and can help reduce unwanted noise.
